The third edition prepared by Menasseh ben Israel (ca. 1604-1657), the Jewish leader who established the first Hebrew press in Amsterdam (1626). His first (unpointed) edition had appeared 1630-1631. The first part contains the text of the Pentateuch and Five Scrolls. The second part contains the text of Joshua, Judges, Samuel, Kings and Prophets. The third part contains the text of the Psalms, Proverbs, Hiob, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, index of the haftarot. "Some copies do not have the Latin Imprint. Because the date of finishing is given in the colophon as Kislev 5398... it is not clear, why the Latin imprint on the engraved title bears the date 1639, while the Hebrew date on the same title-page is correctly stated as 1637". (Fuks & Fuks-Mansfeld). – Engraved title cropped at lower margin and mounted; old ownership entry on first leaf of text made illegible; occasionally a few light stains; on recto of leaf 82 in the second part the name 'Joseph Ottolenghe' is printed."
